Republican national convention: violent unwarranted repression of journalists

Michael Lessard, Friday, September 5, 2008 - 07:42 ( | | | | )
Amy Goodman, host and executive producer of Democracy Now!, describes how her media crew was violently targeted and trapped by police, how secret services ripped away her top-security-clearance credentials without warrant and how the police "preemptively" raided the I-Witness Video Collective.

Sept. 4th 2008, dozens of media reporters, including mass media such as CNN and CBC, were arrested along with 818 other citizens for peacefully protesting at a distance out of the Republicain convention. TheREALnews team was also arrested and fined amongst the media who refused to be embedded with the police. This is there brief video documentary report.

This is a place for open publishing. The CMAQ collective, who validates the posts submitted on the Indymedia-Quebec, does not endorse in any way the opinions and statements and does not judge if the information is correct or true. The quality of the information is evaluated by the comments from Internet surfers, like yourself. We nonetheless have an Editorial Policy, which essentially requires that posts be related to questions of emancipation and does not come from a commercial media.
