Implausible Deniability - Neocon are Traitors

Only a traitor wearing an American uniform wouldn’t recognize
these substantiated charges as highly treasonous. Like, to
the extreme. The bushmob paid the informant 5 million dollars
in hush money, and, anyway, the bushmob had unrestricted
access to go wherever they pleased without delay prior to
bombing Iraqi women and children indiscriminately.

India: Govindan Kutty is finally released

Eric Smith, Monday, March 3, 2008 - 18:54 (Reportage ind. / Ind. news report | Media: Liberte/Freedom)

India: Govindan Kutty is finally released

After nearly two months in prison, the chief editor of the Indian magazine People's March has finally been released after paying a $2,500(US) bail, following accusations from the so-called "communist" authorities of Kerala state that he played a role in "insurrectional activities." This also comes after the 68-year old journalist's hunger strike to protest his detention shortly after his arrest. The People's March magazine is published legally in India, and presents itself as the "voice of the revolution." The allegations made against Govindan Kutty have no serious legal basis; it was motivated by the need to silence a voice that reports on popular topics and supports the cause of Maoist guerillas fighting in the country.

Sentenced to death: Afghan who dared to read about women's rights

Michael Lessard, Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 22:14 (Reportage ind. / Ind. news report | Droits / Rights / Derecho | Femmes / Women / Mujeres | Guerre / War | Media: Liberte/Freedom | Repression | Solidarite internationale)

A young man, a student of journalism, is sentenced to death by an Islamic court for downloading a report from the internet. The sentence is then upheld by the country’s rulers. This is Afghanistan – not in Taliban times but six years after “liberation? and under the democratic rule of the West’s ally Hamid Karzai.

The Independant UK
By Kim Sengupta, Thursday, 31 January 2008

Update: The NDP has passed, by a unanimous vote, the following motion: That this House condemns the proposed execution of the Afghan journalism student, Sayed Pervez Kambaksh, and calls on the Government of Canada to intervene with the government of Afghanistan to have all criminal proceedings against Sayed Pervez Kambaksh immediately abandoned.
[ 39:2 Hansard - 43 (2008/2/4) (1505) - Reported by the Canadian Press in Le Devoir ]

Why here on an Indymedia ?
Normally, we of course avoid commercial articles but, after a few days, I have reason to fear that "journalists" and reporters in Quebec (and maybe Canada) will let this young man in silence. A silent complicity considering the obvious reasons why the people have the right to know that "our Afghan ally" is murdering young journalists, feminists, human rights activists, etc. -Mic, Quebec-Indymedia member

PHILIPPINES: On Makati Siege; A crisis of institutions

The incident unfolding in Makati City today is not surprising. It is a logical conclusion to the abuses committed by the Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (GMA) administration, from the dismissal of the impeachment complaint to the clamp down of democratic and constitutional processes.

Troubling: UF Police Taser Student During Kerry Forum [Sept.2007]

For asking, with a bit of passion, questions in public that some did not like, a student is forcibly taken away. He decides to protest the arrest since he is aware that he is simply using the right to speech that his society taught him he supposedly had. No one helps him and five 'security' guards decide to use a taser on him.

Warning, if you believe in freedom of speech, this true video may make you feel sick.
