Solidarite internationaleCall out from the NetherlandsAnonyme, Saturday, November 21, 2009 - 14:43 (Communiqués | Logement / Housing / Vivienda | Racism | Solidarite internationale)We are squatters from the Netherlands. We are asking you to organize a protest (for example by dutch embassy) in your country against squatting prohibition in the Netherlands. We suggest to organize your protests between 26 and 28 of November, because Eerste Kamer (First Chamber of dutch parliament) will vote about squatting prohibition beginning of December. Table of contents: From Nationalism to InternationalismAnonyme, Tuesday, November 3, 2009 - 16:25 (Analyses | Livres Books Libros | Politics | Solidarite internationale)This booklet tells the story of an activist over a period of about 35 years. For him, it is an easy enough transition from nationalist to Maoist groups, for almost all of them are fundamentally nationalist, with the Stalinist justification of the concept of "socialism in one country" for the latter. We have just published a booklet, "From Nationalism to Internationalism." Venezuela: The error of being Lusbi PortilloAnonyme, Tuesday, November 3, 2009 - 11:20 (Analyses | Aboriginal Nations | Ecologie | Globalisation | Repression | Solidarite internationale)
As this text is written, Lusbi Portillo, professor at Zulia University (in Maracaibo) and environmental activist in solidarity with the indigenous movement is in hiding to protect his life and physical integrity. During the events of October 13 in the Sierra de Perijá two yukpas were killed and five more wounded in a conflict arising from the demarcation of indigenous land. The regional police announced that an arrest warrant against the professor for “drug possession” was imminent. This is not the first time the professor is criminalized for his active solidarity with the demands of the original peoples, but because the way the events are evolving – an investigation of the events has been decreed “national security” by the authorities – he decided to take preventive measures by going into hiding.

The following article –about the tactic and strategy of “Revolutionary Venezuelan” Ethnocide- describes the events. Quebec Court rejects Bil'ins' (Palestine) claim against builders registered in QuebecMichael Lessard, Friday, October 2, 2009 - 16:01 (Communiqués | Droits / Rights / Derecho | Repression | Solidarite internationale)
Montreal, September 28th, 2009 (Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East) - In his decision of September 18th, Judge Louis-Paul Cullen of the Superior Court of Quebec dismissed the case of the Palestinian village of Bil'in which had filed a lawsuit against Green Mount International Inc. and Green Park International Inc., two companies registered in Quebec and involved in the construction of Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. The judge based his argument on the legal exception of forum non conveniens, arguing that Quebec courts lacked jurisdiction to adjudicate, arguing that the case must be decided in Israeli courts. Worse, there is a thread of partisan propaganda holding the bits together like a string of beads. “Harper announced that his Conservative government would adhere to the national interest in formulating Canada's foreign policy…” World campaign to boycott Chiquita for its support of the Coup d’ Etat in HondurasAnonyme, Monday, September 21, 2009 - 18:29 (Communiqués | Photo | Democratie | Imperialism | Repression | Solidarite internationale)
Israel imposes new travel restrictions on CanadiansMichael Lessard, Wednesday, September 16, 2009 - 09:49 (Communiqués | Droits / Rights / Derecho | Guerre / War | Repression | Solidarite internationale)Press Release: Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (Ontario, Sept. 1, 2009) - Canadians visiting the Israeli-occupied West Bank over the last few months have been met by an unwelcome surprise at the border. Israeli officials have recently begun issuing a new and onerous type of entrance visa to international visitors with family or business in the West Bank. The new visas restrict travel to Palestinian areas only and often limit visitors' length of stay to one month. Meanwhile, other international visitors to Israel are allowed a three month stay, and may travel within Israel proper freely. |
